At least, it's better than "I" which is like "l" sometimes. :)

I'd thought that zai . . shows that, since this place, the text will be 
using the alphabet specified by it?

The list says "zai" is a 2-word letteral shift. So does jbofi'e think.

It's an edited alphabet, isn't it?
