Can anyone summarize, which instruments are there in Lojban for explicit
specification of context for the meaning of the words of the speaker?
There's really no good one that I know of.
ma'i/manri seem relevant, but I do not believe that they actually fit.
(What you refer to as context I've reffered to as perceptive universe.)
In these examples explicit context is between asterisks.
- Dragons can fly, *in fantasy world context*
rambalrespa poi xanri la [name of fantasy world here] ...
"dragons such that are imagined by [name of fantasy world here] ..."
This is a misuse of xanri, as it requires an imaginer in x2, and I'm
putting in the name of the specific imaginary-setting.
Wait, wait!
rambalrespa poi zasti zo'e su'u la [world-name]
dragons exist in the metaphysics of [world-name]
But then I wonder if I'm using x2 and x3 properly... I shouldn't use
zasti in this way until someone who knows more about the intent of x2
and x3 can respond.
- There are no dragons *in the real world*
no lo ro rambalrespa cu zasti
"zero out of all hypothetical dragons exist"
"zero dragons exist"
(real world is the default perceptive universe)
- All bears are animals *in the real world*
ro lo ro cribe cu danlu
(assuming implicit zasti)
- All bears have something common *in human discourse*
all bears poi discussed by humans...
- The car is green *in your context*, but *in my context* it is white
Perhaps {ganse}?
ganse gas ga'e sense x1
[observer] senses/detects/notices stimulus property x2 (ka) by means
x3 under conditions x4
"You perceive greenness of that car, but I perceive whiteness of that car"
Or perhaps this is what x2 of zasti is for?
- The line is infinite to both sides *in abstract math / in theory*
(I'll use zasti)
lo pa linji poi zasti zo'e abstractmath ...
the line such that exists in abstract math ...
- There are no infinite lines *in everyday life*
ro lo ro linji poi cimni [and are encountered in everyday life] cu na zasti
all lines such that are infinite and encountered in every day life do not exist.
Can anyone provide insight regarding x2 and x3 of zasti?
