In other words you are proposing that we add in a problem we got rid of
in leaving TLI Loglan behind.
The problem is that some of these diphthong combinations become
difficult to say or hear for some speakers. e.g.
sia vs. ca
zia vs. ja
tia vs. tca
and until I started studying Russian, I couldn't say "lia" or "ria" -
even now I find it easier to use the Russian linguistic model that this
is palatalizing the consonant rather than actually saying the indicated
glide.
JCB counterted this by allowing people to optionally do difficult
diphthiongs as dissylables, which led to ambiguity as to which was the
penultimate syllable.
