"Bile" carries the sense of an expected action which was not performed
e.g.
Tes~ekkür bile etmedi.
He didn't even thank me.
Is "bile" always used with negatives?
It seems to correspond to Spanish "siquiera", which would be
the forth "even", after "aun", "hasta" and "incluso". "Siquiera"
in the sense of "even" is always used with negatives, and
the others always with affirmatives. "Siquiera" affirmatively
would be in English "at least", which is also related to
"even". The most likely instead of the least likely.
("At least the most likely", not "at least the least likely".
But "even the least likely".)
