We could still use the western zodiac signs. It doesn't have to be 
animals. The western zodiac signs are already pretty well fixed to 
the months. The biggest problem is distinguishing between crabs 
and scorpions in lojban.

April           la lanma'i
May             la bakma'i
June            la matsi'uma'i  (twins?)
July            la jukma'i
August          la cinfyma'i
September       la xlima'i
October         la ci'urma'i or la laxma'i
November        la jukrskorpio masti
December        la celma'i

Some of them are metaphorical or not exact equivalents of the 
English names of the zodiac and might to be the best name.
