>From time to time, Lojbab has made a big song and dance
about how audiovisual isomorphism is a requisite property
of a Lojban orthography. It recently struck me, though,
that the failure to represent stress orthographically is
a violation of audiovisual isomorphism and that Lojban
purists should therefore consistently capitalize every
stressed syllable.
(NB Remember that an unambiguous orthography is not necessarily
an audiovisually isomorphic one.)
The result would look disgusting, but if the AVI requirement
is suspended in this instance then AVI violation would not
be a legitimate objection to other orthographies that, for
instance, get rid of the apostrophe.
