Are you using iKnow?  I ask because iKnow will routinely give you
thinks like "a goer" and ask you to *type out* the Lojban.  This
seems like it would solve your problem?

I've been using Drill to get through many words quickly, and iKnow
for more serious studying; Drill seems to prefer new words, and
iKnow old ones.
