Both seem like pretty useful constructs.  Whichever one is "correct", how would one express the other meaning?

For "fifty or sixty people" (meaning "between fifty and sixty people"), I would like to use "bi'i", but I'm not sure whether {muno bi'i xano prenu} would be valid. {li muno bi'i xano} seems valid as a mex though.
