How about we imbue Lojgugde with a freshwater canal system? Each dwelling can be responsible for purifying it's own water and has a ready supply for making it's own solar-powered hydrogen fuel for whatever... The canals could be utilised for moving heavy and bulky goods too.
Should every building as well as every person be as self sufficient as possible? High redundancy is better for handling otherwise catastrophic failure of centralised systems.
