The director came up with something similarly clever.
Alpha would be called "Todd" in English, and then we could make a big
scene out of him getting his jbocme, and they'd call him {tadni}. It's
a great joke for the audience, it makes sense, and I'm sure it could
be used to further joke later on.
Beta had been given a placeholder name of {gidva}, but I like the idea
of calling her something cute like what you suggest. Perhaps something
like pukmi'a or gi'acpi?

Keep in mind that the show is going to avoid English, because we want
to be able to translate as much as possible. The first episode is a
bullet we'll have to bite, but the rest of the show I really do want
in Lojban. The brilliance of it is that Chocolate (the only character
without a mouth) will speak non-jbo, so it doesn't look unusual, and
the rest of the characters don't have to be redubbed.
