My primary argument is that tatpi is about expending something,
specifically effort of some kind, and running out of some resource
as a result, and that I don't think that applies here.  My reading
is that she had managed to entertain herself thus far and now was
running out of interesting things to think about, which doesn't feel
like "I'm tired from doing math homework all night" or "I'm tired
from jogging for an hour", which is what I think tatpi is.

I would accept tatpi for "I'm tired of trying to think up
interesting things to do", but not "I'm tired of sitting here doing
nothing".

Having said that, you're right; Veijo's fanza is better.
