I didn't design the language, so for the most part I can't answer why
something was done one way or the other.

If for some reason you need to assign to a variable, for each bridi
that you assert, the time when the event described by the bridi
happens, you can do that in several ways. To me it doesn't seem like
something you would want to do very often, and if the story gets a bit
long it quickly becomes completely unmanageable for the human mind,
but it's doable at least in principle.
