"sa'orselde'i" describes African elephants, not Asian ones. Not that I've ever
looked in an elephant's mouth, but IIUR, the ridges on Africans are oblique,
while those on Asians aren't.

Are you a zoologist, by chance? Because it is very apparent that you have a great deal more knowledge about species than I. Until this conversation, all I knew about elephants was that there were two kinds, the African and the Asian, and that they are related to the long extinct mammoth.

I had no idea that there were two kinds of African elephants or any os the other things you've since pointed out to me.
