xorxes suggested "combining form", which is good.

"Adposition" is a linguistic term that covers prepositions (most common in 
Indo-European languages), postpositions (used in Hungarian and some related 
languages), circumpositions (such as "à ... près" in French), and possibly 
others. I would call both "nélkül" (hu) and "dopo" (it) "sumtcita" if I were 
discussing grammar in Lojban. But you can say "preposition", as there are no 
postpositions in Lojban.

"Additional sumti place" is correct. It's "modal" that's wrong; the Book and 
the ma'oste use it for a preposition semantically derived from a brivla (or 
from "co'e", in the case of "do'e"), but standard linguistic terminology uses 
the term for words like "could" and "ought".
