[lojban] fun pun?

In teaching my class, a fun exchange was made while covering {be} and {mo}

I first asked Henry how he liked me:

doi .enrin. do mo nelci mi

To which he responded

mutce

Then I took things further

Me: mi mo gletu le mamta be do ku

 H: cmalu .a'o

Where he intended "Not much, I hope."

The fun pun part comes when we thought about applying {cmalu} to describing {le gasnu poi gletu zi'e po'u lo pinji}

My question: Does this really work as a Lojban pun? If so, awesome! If not, why?
