To me, the English does not mean the same as the Lojban. Reading the first 
sentence of the English, I picture Andrew carrying Andrew's bag, Bob carrying 
Bob's, and so on. But in the second, Oscar and Philip are both carrying 
William's bag on William's head, and I reinterpret the first to mean that 
Andrew carried William's bag, then Bob carried William's bag, and so on. To 
say this in Lojban, I'd substitute all the "ri" with "ko'a".
