pe'i the meaning of soft-like-velvet is that it yields slightly under
slight to moderate force, while saying nothing about its ability to
undergo larger deformations. So I think {ranti tengu} is reasonably
accurate. {pruni tengu} or {randa tengu} may also work, though the gloss
"surrender" suggests that randa1 is supposed to be an agent.
