ranti is about yielding to pressure, not necessarily about the surface.
You can say:
lo do flira cu ranti lo nu pencu
"Your face is soft when I touch it." (as opposed to firm)
If you want to call the surface "soft", I suggest xutla.
Of course you can mix them depending on your needs.
