Thank you. I'll have to sleep on this since I find putting a "la pe
la" into a name a bit ugly.

That's why I placed a {zei} between "nolzu'e" and "ioxnaris"; it's not
the same thing, but it works. I've always found this limitation
annoying; I even considered using a lojban dialect in my story in
which a cmene could be built by putting cmevla and brivla together,
but I decided against that. I don't know why the founders decided to
impose that limitation; I just have found {cu} a little more elidable
with that limitation which is not worth it in my opinion. Maybe I'm
overlooking a bigger benefit.

I remember that, and I'm basing this system on that one. It's just
that my "family names" are not really family names, but the names of
the parents (father or mother). In my story, during growth, people
reach an age when they pass through a "coming of age" ritual where
they have to decide whether they wish to keep their family names or
switch. This way there could be men bearing the name of their mothers,
and women bearing the name of their fathers. Most people choose to
keep it.
