OK, so what do we call a hash function?

{zilselfat zei mifra} (well, that's for the hash result; {te zilselfat zei mifra} for the hash function)

{tolna'e zei mifra} for "checksum" and for "MAC", which is an unfortunate conflation.

Sounds good, for that sense. What is the word for "key" in cryptography? For
"salt"?

{selmipmifra} for (private) key, maybe {tolselmipmifra} for public key.

I'm not really sure for "salt"; you could make an argument for {mipmifra} (thing that keeps the data hidden), but it would be a stretch.

Also, many of these are technical jargon and could be fu'ivla.
