Putting "cu" there is not wrong, just not needed, and I didn't notice it. But
grave accents on every brivla look a bit strange.

I haven't counted (I'm still reading the story, and I just passed the point
where she pulled Toto back in through the lolvro), but I think that the "cu"
made necessary by "cmevla are brivla" are more than the "noi" saved.

Word or syllable count is hardly relevant, the argument is for simplicity and regularity. You should consider the cognitive impact as well.

I should mention that I am still personally conservative in this matter. I tend to be conservative because I want to preserve the language unity while the corpus and community are small.
