It has importance? When did that happen? I always figured it was created to save effort on creating 1400+ words. Or to put it another way, it was created for reasons of (understandable) laziness.
Personally, I don't think it's necessary for determining the form of one or two *experimental* gismu. On a case by case basis, I'm certain a human would be much better at it.
