The CLL is indeed rather clear on this point: "Note also that sumti within other sumti, as in quotations, abstractions, and the like, are counted in the order of their beginnings; thus a lower level sumti...is considered to be more recent than a higher level sumti that contains it." So {ri} points to {lo cabdei} here. Referring to {lo du'u ... cabdei} once would be easiest with {lo se go'i}.
