Yes, the proliferation problem is a serious one.  There are a half a
dozen logical languages (in the present sense) around in various stages
of development (mostly early) and activity (mostly slight).  This new
enterprise seems to be driven less by the old "perfection being the
enemy of the good" bugbear and more by frustration with bureaucratic
inertia (though, interestingly, the first step in the project is to set
up a new bureaucracy).  Personally, though I am perfection-driven, I
have decided that it is a better use of time and talent (a lot of the
one, a little of the other) to work with a nearly completed project in
the hope that it will mange to get completed into a product that is good
enough (does all the crucial things, even if in sloppy, inefficient,
even ugly, ways).

Provided both languages have a formal syntax and a clearly defined connection between the two dictionaries it won't matter a lot what language will be spoken since the machine translation will be 100% precise under such circumstances.

I think you are correct.  I can imagine a successor to Lojban emerging in the future, perhaps being developed by people using Lojban rather than English as the medium of communication, which incidentally might reduce the likelihood of dominance by English native speakers.

But I won't be involved in such a successor effort.  And the inherent competition between artificial languages for the limited pool of interested people and their time means that I cannot wish such an effort to be successful so long as Lojban has a chance to be.
