Re: [lojban] sko'opu definition and place structure

I added this word to JVS because too many have asked what it means. But
we obviously need a better definition and a real place structure.

Right, this word is very common in discussions that occur in Lojban about Lojban's logic. We basically have been using it without ever defining its place structure.

To me the two main contenders are:

a) "x1 has scope over x2"

b) "x1 is the scope of operator x2"

We just never decided. And we failed at any attempts to formulate a convincing Lojban definition.

Definition a) sounds more "active". I *think* I have a slight preference for a). A third place might be needed (an "in context/bridi x3" place).

Btw, I think to get the kind of meaning that you entered into JVS one can use {lo si'o sko'opu}.
