Google "in front of the Moon", "behind the Moon" (or choose your favorite celestial body) and you will find many actual usage examples.

 I would say that either celestial objects face all ways simultaneously, or face none. I also don't think it's really a good idea to use directions that require front/back/left/right/up/down when dealing that by their nature don't have any of them.

Instead of ca'u/ti'a it is always possible to use zo'i/ze'o with faceless objects, but there aren't any good alternatives to zu'a/ri'u.
