I think if its based on Linnaean then the Linnaean 'd' it should be.

As you say, Pierre, malglico and Italian only, so they sound good, 
but.  I think:

freshwater clams/mussels: based on heterodonta
marine clams/mussels: based on pteriomorphia
scallops: based on pectinidae
