Re: [jbovlaste] diabetes



what's wrong with {sakybi'a} or {sakpincybi'a} (don't know if they parse like that, my lojban has been dormant for quite long) ? i see the point that in biological terminology for example, the "latin/greek" words are used, but for a common and easily described disease like that, i don't see a point of using a fu'ivla.

The word is of Greek origin, and the English pronunciation is idiosyncratic. A
cmene can go in x3 of bilma (like "ko'a bilma lo nu senci kei la zukám", "he
is sick with a cold, whose symptom is sneezing"); a brivla would substitute
for "bilma" and have a place structure "x1 has diabetes with symptoms x2".
