A general beginner question (altho it could also bear on the {lo}{le} discussion preceding): Is there a concise way to prefix a sentence (as in a scientific paper): "With 89% confidence we maintain...."? Or more generally, "I the speaker am confident at the N level that..." -- for N a real number 1>N>=0.
Although "with N confidence" is pedantic and stuffy in scientific papers, such a prefix, if concise, could have more general use in a logical language. "I'm 90% sure I will go to the store..." or "the noise in the bushes that I am .75 certain is a bear..." Some useful idioms could follow, like "With zero confidence I assert" as a whimsical way of saying "baloney", etc.
