[lojban-beginners] Re: "live performance"

Quoting Vid Sintef <picos.picos@gmail.com>:

Would {cabna tigni} be a good translation of "live performance" or
"live show" (in music, for example)? I'm concerned about {cabna}'s
possible interpretation that the performance is happening at the time
when I utter the sentence, which is not necessarily the case.

Yeah I don't think "cabna" really captures it at all. If you're not talking about the performance being at this very moment, then what you're talking about when you say "live" is really something about the nature of the venue & (in the case of recordings) the relative lack of post-production.

In one sense "tigni" implies a "live" performance, in that it needs to have a tertigni, an audience. The tertigni might not be very large, though; I think it would make sense to say that a studio recording is "tigni" and that it's "fi" whoever's in the studio and the recording devices.

So depending on the context perhaps "gubni tigni" (public performance)?
