My idea would be to put common phrases used in Lojban, then have someone state the translation in English (for use during traffic). Or have an "audio book": translate a book into Lojban, state a Lojban "sentence", then the English translation. (also for use during traffic) (It would be preferable if the person using this audio book would have already read the book in English).
But what might be found very helpful to some learning a new language would be to have the Lojban text in a Lojban learning book, (like "Lojban for Beginners") spoken on a CD. (for use while using learning material)
