[lojban-beginners] Re: sel- vs se
>"ti selkla mi" versus "ti se klama mi"
I, personally, don't like "SEl<whatever>" compounds alone. They are
only marginally shorter, often harder to pronounce, compared to full
"se whatever", and obscuring a "general" predicate (seeing "se bridi"
in "selbri" still requires the noticeable efforts for me).
But they can be quite good in the middle of a longer beasts
(NUn+SEl+<whatever>).
Returning no "memorization" offtopic, when i used "anki", i've been
trying to recall selbri + all the sumti places together, not paying
too much attention to exact wording and errors in "fo/fu".
"Translation" side need to be very brief (1-2 word for each sumti
place). When it gets into a mind as a short sentence/picture with
several "empty" slots (just like designed by language creators), it
does not take too much time.
