It's nonsense. Perfectly grammatical, but nonsense. It means that the time
difference between eating the apple and now is an event of sleeping. One
interpretation is "I ate the apple, then immediately fell asleep, and just
woke up." In that case "zi" would imply that I took a catnap and "zu" that I
zonked out for more than a day.
