We tend to use rupnu when talking about a specific kind of money, i.e. {lo merko rupnu} = {lo meryru'u} = "US$", {lo brito rupnu} = {lo ritru'u} = "UK£", {lo ponjo rupnu} = {lo ponru'u} = "JP¥", etc.

When talking about generic context-evident money, we tend to use jdini.

For example:
{lo do jgari be lo jdini ca klani ma}
"How much cash do you have on you?"

There's probably more elegant ways to say the above in Lojban, I was being quick, not poetic.
