Re: [lojban-beginners] Temper
I'm a little confused by what you mean by "temper". My first thoughts
when I hear the word are: 1) the personality trait. and 2) what one
does to metals. I've never heard of this third kind of "to temper" and I
don't see anything like it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temper
It's essentially the same meaning; not sure whether the general use is
metaphorically referring to the process with metals or the metal
processing operation is just using a more generic term. "tempering" in the
metal sense /is/ "restraining within due limits" the hardness of the
metal, after a hardening operation.
The general version is used something like "he tempered his anger with
wisdom" or something like that.

Dunno that milxe, as a tempered property isn't neccessarily /mild/ just
/correct/, and a less strong implication that it reached that state from a
more extreme one.
