I’m a rank newbie just getting started working my way through the
reference grammar.
I had some fun today making fu’ivla and would like to get feedback on
whether or not I did it right.
I started with the Russian word “balalaika,” which is an instrument I
play. When I set out to turn it into a fu’ivla, I thought “this is
ridiculous to have to prefix the word, what besides the musical
instrument could it possibly mean?”
Then I thought of balalaika perfume, Balalaika the movie, the Balalaika
restaurant in Paris, and the scanty triangular thongs that are being
advertised on eBay as “balalaika thongs.” Hmm.
So, here is my family of balalaika fu’ivla and associated questions:
“balalaika” requires no spelling adjustments to bring it into line with
lojban rules.
