Since ERB never (that I know of) wrote a pronunciation guide, I've
presumed that a "fat T" -- the English "butter" -- was an acceptable
pronunciation of what he transcribed as TH, and also an acceptable
Lojban accent.

When characters address each other in Barsoomian they use the Lojban
"la...C" form. Later when John Carter has learned the langauge and
the dialogue moves to English they drop the La and any introduced
final consonant, but keep the "tt" sound for TH.
There's a baddie, Sab Than, who comes in late so never has a Lojban-
form name, but this pronunciation, English "sob ttawn" is just right
for his villainous nature. :-)
The only major name issue I know of is the important character Sola,
who must be addressed curtly, {ju'i la solas}. The second la is a
problem, I gather. Can I get away with La Solys ?
