I wonder: if there have been people who contributed to the multifaceted
etymology of Lojban (or Loglan), why couldn't they have supplied gimste of
Hindi, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese, in addition to that of English and
Spanish?

The designers were all native English speakers, the words for the
etymologies from other languages were all obtained from dictionaries,
not from any actual knowledge of those languages. The Spanish translation
of the gimste was done much later. The gismste has also been fully
translated into Esperanto. I think there were people working on Russian,
French and German translations, but I don't know how advanced those
are (or whether any of them has been completed).
