Hello everybody,
Please have a look at the latest version of
my structured word list for beginners.
It's been improved thanks to Pierre's remarks. I've
added a proper document type declaration
(XHTML 1.0 Strict).

documents...)
And I've also prepared a column for Japanese. But I'm
still struggling with the Japanese characters...
Vid, please have a look at this document. As you can
see, Japanese characters are possible within iso-8859-1.
You don't really need to go for a UTF-16 encoding.
I would suggest that you ought to use Unicode (UTF8 or UTF16, not
sure which
would be better) for this. Latin-1 really doesn't include those
Japanese characters you're
using, so you're probably depending on the browser to fall back on
another
encoding. Which is probably either Shift JIS or some Unicode anyhow.
The shortage of beginner's documents and vocabulary is always a
complaint
around here, so thanks for pulling this together. Do you think it
would be appropriate
to put it on the wiki soon? That way we can all work on it.
If you're confused by the semi-weird way of making tables, I can help
you out. I figured
most of it out when I was putting the script for Elephants Dream up
in translation.
