... except that TO...TOI can contain any text, not just a {bridi}, so if the
current sentence is followed by an "{.i}" and another sentence, the "{toi}"
will be needed to keep the "{to}" from enclosing everything after it. However,
if the current sentence is instead terminated by "{li'u}" (as the one in
question in {la .alis.} is), the "{toi}" will then be elidable.
