I could be wrong, but I believe Skype has a limit on the number of
people that can be in a conference, which is probably why you were
told to use teamspeak. Ventrilo is another good app like that, but
also requires a server. However, I do know that a free ventrilo server
(good for up to 8 people) is available for linux, and I or maybe Robin
could set it up.

Failing that, I could try to set up a conference call system on my
company's PBX (Runs on Asterisk), which would be accessible to anyone
who can use SIP (Gizmo, fristance).

But let me know how the skype turns out.
