I'm sorry, what are you talking about? ÂWhat program? ÂWhy would
Lindar run it; Lindar just dropped out? ÂI'm *totally* lost.
I recall him saying he was busy, but I don't remember him saying he wasn't going to.
Â
My question was intended to be a largely rhetorical shot at Lindar,
btw. ÂI'm assuming the next step is for either someone else to offer
to do the recording, or for us to just use espeak (possibly to
replace later).
I don't have a problem with the espeak audio being used, but I looked at the files Dag uploaded, and it''s not what's needed: it's every word individually, including cmavo, not the list needed for
smart.fm, so most of it is unusable, (everything but the gismu), and audio for the majority of items is still needed (, all the sumti-fied gismu).
Â
Why did anyone even write tinyurl.com/smartfmgismu ? ÂI don't
understand why simplifying things for smart.fm is a good idea at
all, and even if it is, it can be done with a few minutes'
scripting, or pulling the data from jbofihe (which already has
phrases for all the gismu places).
You'll have to ask get.oren why he wrote it. I don't know. But it is actually useful, if only because the definitions do need editing. The definitions for the gismu are often far too long for
smart.fm's flashcards, Âwhich causes the tailing portion to be cut off, and the jbofi'e phrases still need to be looked over. For example, the gismu list {binxo} definition is "x1 becomes/changes/converts/transforms into x2 under conditions x3", which is too long for the card, and so was simplified to "x1 transforms into x2 under conditions x3". The jbofi'e {lo binxo} phrase is "any/some become-r(s)", which after editing to get rid of the "any/some"s and various punctuation became "become-rs". The definition of {lo binxo} for Smart.fm is "something that transforms", which not only corresponds to the definition for {binxo}, but also, IMO, is easier to understand than the jbofi'e phrase.

If that's you volunteering, please feel free.
I'm going to quote myself: "I can't do this myself due to not having access to my computer...."
