I've thought of using the hyphen for this (le karce cu Mg- li 2). The slash is 
unsuitable, since it's read as {fi'u} in such abbreviations as km/h 
(ki'otrefi'ucacra). lo fi'ursnidu could be either a hertz or a becquerel.
