No, I'm quite clearly in the metalanguage, talking about the referents of words in the object language (which referents are presumed available to the metalanguage as well). To be sure, Lojban does tend to muddle things a bit, since senses are object in (or addable without cost to) the universe of discourse, so it is possible that 'lo broda' could refer to the sense of 'broda' (otherwise referred to by 'lo ka broda' or some somewhat more complicated version of that -- metaphysics, pfui! [or, as we say in Lojbanic circles, "epistemology"]).

You are mixing object language and metalanguage (and you probably know it).
