Also with the same theme:

cliva: x1 leaves x2 via x3
to'e cliva: x1 arrives at x2 via x3

claxu: x1 lacks x2
to'e claxu: x1 has x2

("to'e claxu" is not to be confused with the much more specialized
"ponse": "x1 owns x2")

In all four cases the base word is the "absence" one and the
"presence" word is the derived one, which is backwards from what I
would expect. At least there is a little method to the madness. A
fifth candidate could be "kunti"/"to'e kunti", but we do have "culno"
so we don't really need "to'e kunti".

For the same reason you don't say "perse" and "disperse". :)
