The current Contact Us page on the Lojban Wiki 
http://www.lojban.org/tiki/Contact+Us  has contact 
names that are no longer valid.

Specifically:Scandinavian Countries and Finland
Veijo Vilva, veion@animal.helsinki.fi
Russia and Former Soviet Union
Evgueni Sklyanin, sklyanin@pdmi.ras.ru

Veijo and Evgueni don't respond to emails, so I would 
like to delete them and provide new contacts.

Would anyone like to volunteer? At a minumum , 
I think we need new contacts for:
1) Central and South America, Spain (fluency in at least Spanish)
2) Asia (fluency in at least Chinese Mandarin)
3) Russia and Former Soviet Union (fluency in at least Russian)

In addition to language fluency, I suggest at least one year of 
regular involvement with the Lojban community, familiarity 
with Lojban resources, and dependability (ability to respond 
to email inquiry within 72 hours).  A detailed knowledge 
of Lojban grammar should not be necessary.

Why do we need International Contacts?
1) To show that is more than just another Euro-American 
constructed language.  We need to attract people world-wide.
2) To provide an initial  'local' contact to those who would feel 
more comfortable with one.

What work would this entail?
Answering very occasional initial inquiries from local writers (like 
Arika Okrent), the media and potential lojbanists - and pointing them 
towards the appropriate resource.

If you would like to do this, or have other ideas, please let me know.
