Exactly.
For reasons of symmetry there should be a short word for "xi nai".
Are there any unoccupied two-letter words for lojban ?
Subscripts appear to be more a fairly general means of attaching
additional information or distinctions to grammatical words, rather
than a representation of the typographical practice of subscripting.
The meaning of zo xi is analogous to the mathematical practice of
subscripting. In mathematics superscripts are variously used for lo
tenfa, repetitions of other elements than multiplication, and in ways
similar to subscripts.
