For less fluent lojbanists this note might be not that easy to
understand and since it's quite useful, I'm gonna repeat it in
English.
It's basically about the way Lang-8 spaces notes into sentences for
correction. It assumes dot always finished sentence. Applying that to
carefully written Lojban, we would get plethora of "sentences" between
each pair of pauses. To alleviate that, I suggest to:
(1) only use dots for {.i}; avoid it anywhere else
(2) do not use {.i} at the beginning or ending of a paragraph
As far as I am aware, (1) is perfectly correct as long as word endings
are marked unambigously (via space) -- so use {ue ua) instead of
(.ue.ua), etc. (2) is likely to actually prevent text from parsing as
a whole but it's just a reasonable compromise.
Again, we're looking for more people to encourage: 1. newbies to join
up so they can have another avenue of learning. 2. users of Lang-8 to
learn Lojban. 3. the operator(s) of Lang-8 to include support for
Lojban. Sign up for an account and friend me! My account is http://lang-8.com/8203
and my friends list contains several more jbopre (I think we have five
in total now). It's really quite fun and addictive as it combines two
favoured hobbies of the Lojbanist; blogging and correcting people. =D
