  The reason for that I put the "ma'a" in brackets, is because without
it, it would be usually be presumed that the x1 of the sub bridi is
the same as the outer bridi, namely "ko bregau lo bagyce'a bilni lo nu
lo bagyce'a cu gunta".  If you wanted to in fact say they would be the
attacked, not the attacker, you could either reverse it, "ko bregau lo
bagyce'a bilni lo nu se gunta" or (warning: not standard lojban, but I
assert it would still be understood) mark it with an explicit ce'u, as
you would do with ka, "ko bregau lo bagyce'a bilni lo nu gunta ce'u").
 With the "ma'a" there, of course, it means that the are archers are
prepared for you, me, and others to attack, not necessarily for the
archers themselves to attack.
