[lojban] Backcounting + poi

I understand that {di'u noi glibau} refers to the last utterance and simply conveys the additional information that it was spoken in English.
I wonder, though, about {di'u poi glibau}.  Does it simply refer to the last English utterance (useful, but I don't think back-counting rules allow that)?  Or does it does it logically necessitate that the last utterance have been in English?
